  • How do I know what system my home actually needs?
    We start with a free, in-home water test to find out exactly what’s in your water. Then, we recommend only the tanks and filters that solve your specific issues — no guesswork, no generic packages.
  • Which areas do you serve?
    We proudly serve Richmond and surrounding areas including Luray, Shenandoah, Sperryville, Culpeper, and Warrenton. If you're within driving distance, we can help.
  • Can I use my own plumber or contractor to install your system?
    You can, but we strongly recommend our team for installation. Our technicians are trained to install, calibrate, and test the system for optimal performance and warranty compliance. This ensures everything runs smoothly from day one.
  • Can you remove my old system or fix what I already have?
    Absolutely. Whether you have a system from Leaf, Culligan, RainSoft or another company, we can remove, replace, or upgrade it with our better, more efficient tanks — all in one visit.
  • Do you offer payment plans or financing?
    Yes. Clean water shouldn’t be out of reach. We offer simple, flexible financing options — including low down payments — so you can protect your home and health without breaking the bank.
  • How much does a whole-home system usually cost?
    Our fully installed systems typically range between $2,500–$6,000, depending on what your water actually needs. We’ll explain every line item before you commit, and never sell you something you don’t need.
  • What kind of maintenance do the systems need?
    Minimal. Most of our systems are low-maintenance, with basic filter changes every 6–12 months or adding a bag of salt each month. We also provide a free 5-year system check-up, and we’re available anytime for questions or support.
  • What makes OtterWaterCo better than big-name water companies?
    Unlike national brands, we focus only on water filtration — not plumbing, not HVAC, just water. Our systems are custom-built in the USA, private-labeled, and sourced from the same suppliers the major brands use (without the markup). You're getting elite performance without the sales pitch.
  • What’s included in your warranty?
    We offer a 7-year warranty on parts and labor, plus a complimentary 5-year system check-up to make sure everything continues running at its best.
  • Do you offer UV purification for bacteria or viruses?
    Yes. For homes with microbiological concerns (like E. coli, coliform, or Giardia), we install NSF-certified UV systems that kill 99.99% of harmful microorganisms — chemical-free and maintenance-light.
  • How long do your systems typically last?
    Our systems are built to last 15+ years with proper maintenance. Unlike store-bought units, our tanks are professionally installed, high-capacity, and custom matched to your water — so they don’t wear out prematurely.
  • Do you work with home builders, contractors, or real estate professionals?
    Yes. We regularly partner with home builders, remodelers, and real estate professionals to install systems in new construction or recently purchased homes. We offer special pricing and fast-turnaround installations tailored to your project timelines.
  • How fast can you install the system?
    Most installs are done same day or next day after your water test. We come prepared with everything needed to get you up and running fast — no delays.
